Business Development Manager

Equiton is a private equity firm that specializes in providing wealth management solutions for Canadian investors. Its head office is in Burlington, Ontario.

Equiton Capital is seeking an ambitious self-starter with a high degree of energy, motivation and discipline to achieve sales success. You will be primarily responsible for developing new business relationships with the advisor community, clients and partners.

Successful candidates must also have a strong character with a desire to take care of investors, clients and business partners. The ideal candidate should enjoy both prospecting for new relationships, as well as, nurturing existing ones.

Duties will include:

  • Effectively plan and execute sales strategy.
  • Lead generation - Maintaining high levels of prospecting activity through proactive calling, meetings, presentations and seminars. Quickly establish credibility and trusted relationships with partners.
  • Growing a direct client base and developing new opportunities with external referral partners.
  • Understanding partner’s needs and transitioning them to the firm's wealth solutions.
  • Achieving weekly sales activity targets and monthly sales goals.
  • Attending industry and related events, seminars, trade shows and conventions. Travel when required.
  • Ensuring a high level of client and partner satisfaction by providing excellent service.
  • Maintaining a constant awareness of competitive products and services in the marketplace.
  • Adhering to compliance procedures and regulatory requirement always.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Excellent selling and professional service skills. Must be able to confidently handle client and partner interactions to ensure a positive outcome.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of achievement in selling products and/or services.
  • A post-secondary degree or equivalent business experience.
  • 5 years+ B2B or B2C sales experience.
  • Knowledge of finance, investment sales or real estate an asset.
  • A well-established presence within the community.
  • High performance standards and ability to put the time in to achieve results.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and desire to consistently improve.
  • Desire to bring credible, proven, long term wealth solutions offered by the firm to the marketplace.
  • Energy, passion, and humour.

Compensation:

  • Competitive earning structure. Base salary plus sales bonus.
